Yesterday, mindful of another snowstorm approaching, we took advantage of the lovely weather and drove down Route 1-A to Rye, NH.
Our favorite among the Rye beaches is Jenness Beach. It’s big – about a half-mile long – but it always feels like home.
Yesterday, the beach was popular with walkers and dog owners, but we found a parking spot anyway.
And yes, we rolled up our jeans and went wading in the icy water. Because we always do that, even when it means trekking through snow to get there.
(I’ve done that for as long as I can remember: If I’m at the beach, I’m going into the water. So there! lol )
Here’s a photo from yesterday, looking in the direction of a distant ship.
The water was a wonderful dark teal-green, when we could see it.
Most of the time, the waves were so choppy, and the sun was so sparkling-bright, the water looked topped with a brilliant, white froth.
The energy was amazing. In fact, it was so exhilarating, we’ve decided to return to Rye every weekend… unless we’re snowed-in, of course.
